The brothers of Hazrat Yousaf (AS) were also jealous of him that their father loved Yousaf (AS) more than them and thus, they cause harm to Hazrat Yousaf (AS).
We can also learn about lesson of forgiveness from Surah Yousaf of Holy Quran. Hazrat Yousaf (AS) faced many difficulties due to his brothers and their jealousy. However, when he (AS) got the kingship of Egypt, Hazrat Yousaf (AS) forgave them and didn’t take any revenge from them.
“He said, “No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you; and He is the most merciful of the merciful.””
