Holy Quran is a complete and perfect book that guides Muslims to the right path. Moreover, it is all the Muslims’ primary source of knowledge. Quran Kareem opens the minds of people and gives them knowledge about various things. Likewise, it also tells man about things that science tell us now. Quran has told man about many things 1400 years before which science is telling us now. Thus, it’s very inspiring to know more about Holy Quran and modern science in order to know that what Quran told us centuries before which science is telling us now.
Quran tells us about different things which are present in this earth like clouds, sky, mountains and moon etc. Also, Quran tells us about rain, night, day and iron. Science also tells us about these things but the worth noticing thing is that Quran told us way before science discovered these truth after great researches. Following are some of the things about which science told us now but Quran told us centuries before.
Quran centuries before told us about splitting of heavens and earth and science told us in 1973 that after the explosion of mass universe was formed. In Surah Anbya, it is stated, “Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?” (Quran, 21:30) Then, the big bang theory stated in 1973 that 15 billion years ago, a primordial mass was exploded and universe was formed.
Quran told us decades before that sun also moves while modern science abled to discover it later. It is stated in Quran, “And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.” (Quran, 21:33) However, the old theories of science said that sun doesn’t move but today, the modern science also states that sun is in motion. It travels at 150 miles per second and takes around 200 million years to complete its one revolution around the center of our galaxy named Milky Way Galaxy. Thus, Holy Quran and modern science is a topic that can amaze you a lot.
Quran tells us the importance of iron that it is a source of great military power about 1400 years before. Today, with the help of science, iron is being used in creating jets. About iron, it is stated in the Holy Quran, “…And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.” (Quran, 57:25)
Thus, Holy Quran and modern science is a very interesting topic that tells us about many things which Quran told us before science. Also, Quran is perfect book without any error while there are errors in many scientific theories which can be proved by the fact that many theories of science were discarded for being incorrect and new ones took their place. Thus, we can learn about this universe and many other things from Quran in the best way.
