Ramadan is the beautiful time of the year for the Muslims and great month of the Islamic calendar. It is a time when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and try to avoid doing sins. It is a time when Muslims try to strengthen their bond with Allah (SWT). The month of Ramadan is very special for the Muslims and they consider this month very important because of different reasons. As the month of Ramadan is going on so today in this blog we will talk about why Ramzan is so important for the Muslims.
There are certain reasons of why Muslims consider this Islamic month so important and those reasons are as follow;
Ramadan is a month in which Muslims fulfil the duty of fasting which is one of the five pillars of Islam. Due to this reason that Muslims get to fulfil their obligation which is also one of the five pillars of Islam in Ramzan, they consider this month very special and important. Muslims keep the fast in this whole month for the sake of Allah (SWT) alone.
Quran which is the last book of Allah (SWT) was first revealed in the month of Ramzan on the last prophet of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). Due to this reason of first revelation of Quran in Ramadan, this month is also very important for the Muslims.
Ramadan is a month in which Muslims get a chance to earn more and more rewards by doing good deeds as much as they can. However, all the good deeds must be done for the sake of Allah (SWT) alone. Thus, due to the reason of getting the opportunity to earn more rewards in Ramadan, this month is very dear to Muslims. Following hadith also shows that Muslims can earn great rewards in Ramzan;
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) said, “Every action a son of Adam does shall be multiplied—a good action by ten times its value, up to 700 times. Allah says: With the exception of fasting, which belongs to Me, and I reward it accordingly. For, one abandons his desire and food for My sake.” (Hadith)
There is mention of Ramadan in both Quran and Hadith which makes this month very special and important for the Muslims because Quran and Hadith are very sacred texts for the Muslims. There is mention of Ramadan in the following Quranic verse and Hadith;
“The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.” (Quran, 2:185)
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) said, “When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Lastly, Ramadan is the month observed by the Muslims around the world and they consider this month very important therefore, they do lots of ibadat, zikr and other good deeds in this month for the sake of Allah (SWT) to please Allah and earn rewards. Thus, in this Ramadan, we should also try our best to seek forgiveness from Allah and please Him.
