Surah Ikhlas is one of the surahs of Quran which has many benefits as we can gain rewards by reciting Surah Ikhlas. Moreover, it is also one of the four quls. It is a short surah of Quran which we recite after Surah Fatiha in namaz usually as well. In this blog, we will discuss about benefits and meaning of Surah Ikhlas. Also, learning the meaning of this surah is very important as only after knowing its meaning we can clearly understand Surah Ikhlas.

Benefits and Meaning of Surah Ikhlas:

Following are the benefits and meaning of Surah Ikhlas;

Surah Ikhlas:

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
 قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ○ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ○ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ○ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ

Translation:

“Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.”

Meaning of Surah Ikhlas:

By translation of Surah Ikhlas, we can understand the meaning of this surah clearly. However, this surah can be explained further. In the Surah Ikhlas, Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) is addressed first and then all believers are addressed as per Maududi. In this surah, it is stated that Allah is One; surely He is the One who is the Only God. Allah is Eternal Who will always remain. He is not father of anyone plus He is a son of none. There is no one like Allah.

Benefits and rewards of Surah Ikhlas:

Surah Ikhlas is a surah which was revealed in Makkah. From ahadith, we can learn about the benefits and rewards of Surah Ikhlas. On reciting every word of Quran, we gain rewards from Allah. Likewise, on reciting Surah Ikhlas we can get great rewards too. Moreover, from following ahadith, we can clearly understand the benefits and rewards of Surah Ikhlas;

• Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) said, “Whoever recites Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad ten times; Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”(Saheeh al-Jaami)
• Holy Prophet (SAWW) said, “When you recite Surah Fatiha and Surah Ikhlas upon lying on your bed, you will be safeguarded and should become fearless of everything except death.” 

• Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) said, “Say: He is Allah, Absolute Oneness…, By Him in Whose hand my soul is, it is equal to one-third of the Quran!”(Bukhari)
• Buraydah ibn Al-Husayb(RA) reported that yhe Prophet (SAWW) heard a man supplicating saying, “O Allah, I ask you by my testimony that you are Allah, there is no God but you, the One, the Eternal Refuge who does not give birth and was not born and to whom no one is equal.” The Prophet said, “By him in whose hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by his greatest name for which he answers when called upon and he gives when asked.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3745)

Thus, all the above mentioned ahadith show the benefits and rewards of reciting Surah Ikhlas. By reciting Surah Ikhlas, we can also gain peace of heart and soul as these are the words of Allah (SWT). So, we can try our best to recite and learn Surah Ikhlas. Also, knowing the benefits and meaning of Surah Ikhlas is very important and we should also make our kids to learn this Surah and know its meaning plus explanation in detail.
