In Holy Quran, there are many surahs. Likewise, 4 kul are also the surahs of Quran. The four surahs of Quran i.e., Surah Ikhlas, Surah Kafiroon, Surah Falaq and Surah Nas are actually called as 4 kul. There are many benefits of reciting 4 kul and as Muslims, we all must know about those benefits as in this way we will also get to know about the rewards of reciting 4 kul. Thus, in this blog, we will talk about the advantages of reciting 4 kul.
All these four surahs of Quran are among the last ten surahs of the Holy Quran. These chapters of Quran are very short and can be easily learnt. Moreover, we can also recite any surah from 4 kul in namaz after the recitation of Surah Fatiha. We also know that on reciting one word of Quran, Muslims gain rewards, likewise, on reciting 4 kul, we will gain great rewards from Allah (SWT).
From the following ahadith, we can learn the great benefits of reciting 4 kul;
The Prophet (SAWW) said, “Recite Surah Al- Kafiroon and then go to sleep after coming to its end, for it is a clearance from shirk.” (Abu Dawud 4396)
Hazrat Abdullah bin Khabeeb (RA) narrated that “We got out once on a rainy night and it was very dark and we looked for the Prophet (SAWW) to pray for us and then we found Him and He said ‘Did you pray?’ and I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ but I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ but again I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ So, I said, ‘What should I say?’ He said, ‘Qul Hoo wAllahu Ahad and Muwaidaitain (Surah Falaq and Surah Nas) when you enter the evening and when you wake up in the morning three times and it will protect you from everything.” (Tirmidhi)
Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) said, “Whoever recites Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad ten times; Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Saheeh al-Jaami)
All the above mentioned ahadith clearly tell us about the benefits of reciting 4 kul. Thus, we all should memorize these surahs and make our kids learn them as well so that we and our kids can gain rewards. Furthermore, it is also important to know the meanings of these surahs in order to know the message of Allah; this can be done by reading the translation and tafseer of these surahs and it will surely benefit us.
