Ibn-e-Aqeel was the nephew and son-in-law of Hazrat Ali (RA). He was married to Hazrat Ali’s (RA) daughter named Ruqqaiya. Hazrat Hussain (RA) sent Ibn-e-Aqeel to Kufa for the people residing over there with full guidance. Ibn-e-Aqeel was then martyred by the army of Yazeed later. Thus, he was the first martyr of the battle of Karbala.
