Surah Nas is one of the surah of Quran which has six verses. It is a short surah of Quran and there are many benefits of this chapter of the Holy Quran. Moreover, it is very important to know the detailed meaning of Surah Nas. Thus, we decided to write this blog on benefits and meaning of Surah Nas so that you can understand the significance of this surah. It is also one of the last ten surahs of the Holy Quran.

Benefits and Meaning of Surah Nas:

By learning the benefits and meaning of Surah Nas we can gain great knowledge about this surat as well. Moreover, we know that reciting one word of Quran gives us rewards. Likewise, if we will recite Surah Nas then we will get rewards too. Furthermore, the translation and meaning of Surah Nas tell us that what this surah is about and as Muslims we should clearly know and understand the meaning of Surah Nas along with all other surahs of Quran.

Surah Nas:

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
 قُل أَعوذُ بِرَبِّ النّاسِ○ مَلِكِ النّاسِ○ إِلٰهِ النّاسِ○ مِن شَرِّ الوَسواسِ الخَنّاسِ○ الَّذى يُوَسوِسُ فى صُدورِ النّاسِ○ مِنَ الجِنَّةِ وَالنّاسِ

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Qul a’uzu birabbin naas ○ Malikin naas ○ Ilaahin naas ○ Min sharril was waasil khannaas ○ Al lazee yuwas wisu fee sudoorin naas ○ Minal jinnati wan naas ○

Surah Nas Translation:

“Say: I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind, The King (or Ruler) of Mankind, The Allah (for judge) of Mankind, – From the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his whisper), – (The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind, – Among Jinns and among men.”

Surah Nas Meaning:

In Surah Nas, a prayer of seeking Allah’s refuge has been taught and three qualities of Allah are described to give reference with this prayer. First quality is that He is Rabb-in-nas which means the Sustainer, the Provider. The second attribute of Allah which is mentioned is that He is Malik-in-nas which means that Allah is the Master of all mankind. Third attribute is that Allah is Ilah-in-nas which means that He is the Deity of the whole mankind. Allah’s refuge is sought from the whisperer of evil and according to some scholars the whisperer whispers evil in the hearts of men and jinns.

Benefits of Surah Nas:

From the following narration we can learn about the benefits of Surah Nas; 

Hazrat Abdullah bin Khabeeb (RA) narrated that “We got out once on a rainy night and it was very dark and we looked for the Prophet (SAWW) to pray for us and then we found Him and He said ‘Did you pray?’ and I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ but I didn’t say anything. and then He said, ‘Say’ but again I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ So, I said, ‘What should I say?’ He said, ‘Qul Hoo wAllahu Ahad and Muwaidaitain (Surah Falaq and Surah Nas) when you enter the evening and when you wake up in the morning three times and it will protect you from everything.” (Tirmidhi)

Thus, after knowing the benefits and meaning of Surah Nas we can clearly understand the importance of this Surah. Moreover, we can also recite this Surah in namaz after reciting Surah Fatiha. The chapters of Quran have very deep meanings and being Muslims, we should clearly understand the words of Allah so that we can live a peaceful life here and get success in the Akhirah.
