Hazrat Nuh (AS) is one of the prophets of Allah who was sent to guide the people of earth on the right path. Hazrat Nuh (AS) was praised by Allah in Quran that shows great status of Prophet Nuh (AS). Also, Hazrat Nuh (AS) was a great speaker and among his many qualities, being very patient is one of them.
There is a mention of Hazrat Nuh (AS) in various places in Quran. Thus, by learning and understating Quran we can learn about Hazrat Nuh (AS) as well.
“And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. We saved him and his family from the great affliction. And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]. And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: “Peace upon Noah among the worlds.”” (Quran 37:75-79)
“Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of ‘Imran over the worlds.” (Quran 3:33)
There were people back in the days who used to make statues of some good people after their death to remember them but later generations started to worship them and treat them as their gods. To guide these people to the right path, Allah (SWT) sent Hazrat Nuh (AS). Thus, Hazrat Nuh (AS) was sent to the people who used to worship idols.
Prophet Nuh (AS) guided his people to worship none except Allah. Also, he used to take the attention of his people towards the universe and its mysteries. Hazrat Nuh (AS) told his people that devil had been misleading them for a long time. He continued preaching of the message of Allah among his people and told them about Hellfire in which those people are thrown who disobey Allah.
Only poor people believed Hazrat Nuh (AS) while rich didn’t. The rich people asked Hazrat Nuh (AS) to stop his preaching. He refused to back off and thus gave his own arguments.
Hazrat Nooh (AS) tried a lot to make his people believe in Allah but whenever he used to call them to Allah, they either ran away or put their fingers in their ears so that they couldn’t listen to him. He realized this in time that all his endeavours are going in vain and thus, he became tired and sad after trying a lot to call his people to Allah. Hence, Hazrat Nuh (AS) asked Allah (SWT) to destroy non-believers.
“And Nuh (Noah) said: “My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers on the earth! If You leave them, they will mislead Your slaves, and they will beget none but wicked disbelievers.”” (Surah Nuh 71:26-27)
Thus, Allah accepted the prayer of Prophet Nuh (AS) and he with the believers were saved while the non-believers were destroyed by Allah (SWT) as a result of their actions.
In the life of Hazrat Nuh (AS), there are great lessons for the Muslims. We can learn more about Hazrat Nuh (AS) and matters related to his people by learning and understanding Quran deeply.
